In India, all scriptures and esteemed spiritual teachers, including Shankaracharya, who is known as an impersonalist, recognize Krishna as the Supreme Lord. In the introduction to his commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita, Shankaracharya states that Narayana is transcendental to both the manifested and unmanifested creation. He also identifies Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, as Krishna, who appears as the son of Devaki and Vasudeva. Therefore, there is little disagreement regarding Krishna's position. Authorities, whether personalists or impersonalists, universally acknowledge Krishna as the Supreme Lord.
